Master Confucius once said, “A Noble Man stays away from the kitchen” because when it comes to animals, if he has seen them while alive, he cannot stand to watch them die; if he hears their screams, he cannot stand to eat their meat. In this day and age, the vegan lifestyle matters not only for our health, but for the sustainable development of our future generations. Let us rebuild this noble tradition and create a sustainable future through adopting a healthy and noble lifestyle.

A History of Veganism - Part 1 of 4: Ancient Period

Far from being a new phenomenon, vegetarianism and veganism have enjoyed a long and diverse history since the beginning of our sojourn on Earth. The term vegetarian was not coined until the 1800s, and the tern vegan not until 1944.Before these words were invented and popularized, a vegetarian diet was referred to as the "vegetable diet," or the "Pythagorean diet," after the preeminent Greek philosopher Pythagoras.Generally, the further back in time, the less certain it is whether a particular historical figure was vegetarian, lacto-vegetarian, ovo-vegetarian,or vegan. For the purpose of this show,we will use the term vegetarian to represent all these different types of vegetarianism where there is no certainty.

We’re brainwashed by society into believing that an abundance of material things will give us long-lasting happiness and peace of mind. However, the sages and wise persons of the past and present have shared with our world a much different perspective. Albert Einstein, often regarded as the greatest scientist of the 20th century, perceptively wrote: “ A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness.”

Go Vegan with Abolitionist Vegan Advocate, the Young Vani Putheti, Part 2 of 2

So change doesn’t just start in government with big politicians. It starts in society, where people start to realize that something is wrong and they go against it. So I think the best way we can spread out reach for veganism is by talking to people about it, and eventually, people will realize that veganism is the morally ought thing to do. I agree that veganism is a matter or justice, a matter of social justice. Animals, and human beings, and all living beings, who are sentient, have the base right not to be treated as property by others.

Go Vegan with the Abolitionist Vegan Educator, Ms. Vanda Kadas, Part 1 of 2

Veganism is about justice for the animals. Veganism is the right thing to do if we agree that animals have any moral value. The important thing is to make the connection between killing them for food and letting them have the right to live out their lives alongside humans. “Do you agree it is wrong to cause unnecessary suffering to animals?” Why harm others when we don’t need to do that? Knowing the urgency of a worldwide shift to veganism, Vanda thus encourages all vegans to speak up about it and animal rights.

Vegan Pork and Mushroom Soup

A Gift of Love

Vegan Pork and Mushroom Soup

The one we have prepared is mushroom, coriander, and the vegan pork. All you need is mushroom seasoning, soya sauce, some oil, and some juice. This one I use mixed juice, and a cube of vegan broth and some water. Now you put some water, just you can add in the bouillon already into the water. And put some mushroom seasoning, a little soya sauce. And two tablespoons of oil, and also a quarter cup of juice. And now, the water boiled already, I also put coriander in together so that the flavor will soak into the food. Now we just leave it there, cover it. Stir it up evenly, let the water cover it, just nicely covered. So we let it simmer for a while. You let it simmer, low heat, and for maybe ten minutes, that should be fine.

Today, the world is a world of consumerism, whether we like it or not, we are all reduced to the state of consumers, even more in the North than in the South, but all over the world, we are consumers. These consumers do have a choice on how they consume very tangibly! If I, a mere citizen I need to explain to an industrialist my vision of the world, there is very, very little chance that he would listen to me. However, collectively with all vegans along, I think I can get his attention more easily. And that’s my goal.

Creative Transformations of Plastic Waste

Plastic is very inexpensive, easy to produce, light, and can be used in an incredible amount of ways. However, with all these benefits, there are enormous costs. About half of all plastic is used just one time and then discarded. Our beautiful seas are now an immense rubbish bin that no one empties. To degrade and the pervasive plastic shopping bag can take 10 to 1000 years to decompose. Many brilliant individuals, organizations, and companies around the world care deeply about this issue and are working to take a portion of the unending flow of plastic waste and give it new life.
